At just 26, Naomi Ciarallo has already navigated a journey that’s as layered as the palettes she curates. Founder of Persona in Palette, Naomi blends her scientific background in ecology with a refined eye for beauty, helping clients discover their best colours — and their best selves — through professional colour analysis. In this conversation with Happy Women Club, she opens up about the balance between passion and discipline, the grounding power of nature, and the courage it takes to carve your own path in a niche the world is still learning to understand.
Happy Women Club: Tell us a bit about yourself and your journey.
I’m 26 years old and the founder of Persona in Palette, a professional colour analysis business I launched a year ago. Before this chapter of my life, I spent six years in post-secondary studying Geology, Geography, and ultimately completing a Bachelor of Science in Ecological Restoration. Nature was — and still is — a huge passion of mine. I spent countless weekends hiking and backpacking overnight with my dad, while my mom passed on her love for creativity and shopping. That balance of logic and artistry from both parents has helped shape not only who I am, but also how I approach both business and beauty. Now, I help people find harmony in their appearance the same way I once found it in landscapes — through thoughtful observation, science, and care.
Happy Women Club: What inspired you to follow your dreams despite challenges?
I have an incredible support network of family and friends who have believed in me from the very beginning. Even during the hard times — when things felt unclear or I got stuck — they never once doubted my vision. That kind of belief is powerful. It reminded me that I wasn’t building something alone and gave me the strength to keep pushing forward, even when the path was uncertain. Their encouragement, along with my own determination to live a life aligned with passion and purpose, is what kept me going.
Happy Women Club: How do you manage the demands of your career while maintaining a healthy personal life?
I manage the demands of my career by staying disciplined in my routines and grounded in what fuels me personally. Every day I carve out time for movement — whether it’s a gym session or a walk outdoors — and I stick to a nourishing diet that keeps me sharp and energized. I’ve learned that self-regulation is key to long-term success, so I prioritize sleep, alone time, and boundary-setting. My personal and professional life support one another, and I’ve built my business to allow space for both.
“You don’t need permission to take up space. The niche you’re dreaming about — the one people don’t quite understand yet — that’s your lane. Walk it with intention, and the right people will catch on.”
Happy Women Club: How do you handle stress and protect your mental health?
I’ve always been deeply committed to protecting my mental health, especially as a business owner. Hiking remains my greatest form of therapy — something I’ve shared with my dad since I was young. Being immersed in nature gives me the space to decompress, think clearly, and stay grounded. In addition, I work out every day, eat clean on a strict carnivore diet, and structure my time to avoid burnout. These habits help me stay focused, energized, and emotionally regulated.
Happy Women Club: How do you find inner peace and clarity in uncertain times?
For me, clarity always begins with reflection. I’ve been through deeply emotional experiences and healing work, and I’ve learned to slow down and listen to what my body, spirit, and environment are telling me. Whether that’s stepping back from social media, grounding myself in nature, or remembering the impact I’m making, I find peace in stillness and in purpose.
Happy Women Club: Do your hobbies play a role in your well-being and productivity?
Backpacking and hiking have been transformative for my mental resilience. There’s something about being deep in nature, carrying everything you need on your back, that brings you face-to-face with your limits — and then pushes you past them. On long hikes, when your body feels like it’s given all it can, it becomes a mental game. That endurance and mental strength have carried over into my professional life. It’s taught me to stay focused and disciplined, even when things get tough. Hiking has grounded me, sharpened my problem-solving, and helped me show up every day with more clarity, patience, and determination.
Happy Women Club: What skills are most essential in your line of work?
Empathy and visual acuity. Colour analysis is both a science and an art — I need to understand colour theory deeply, but I also need to make clients feel safe and empowered in a vulnerable space. Active listening, strong visual literacy, and emotional intelligence are non-negotiables in this work.
Happy Women Club: What message would you share with women at the start of their careers or entrepreneurial journeys?
ou don’t need permission to take up space. The niche you’re dreaming about — the one people don’t quite understand yet — that’s your lane. Walk it with intention, and the right people will catch on. Just because others haven’t done it your way doesn’t mean it’s not worth doing.
“Happiness comes from alignment — waking up every day working on something you believe in, something that helps people see themselves more clearly and feel confident in their own skin.”
Happy Women Club: If your heart asked you, “Do you feel happy in your life? Why?” — how would you respond?
Yes — I do feel happy. Not every moment is perfect, but my happiness comes from alignment. I wake up each day working on something I believe in, something that helps people see themselves more clearly and feel more confident in their skin. That, to me, is deeply fulfilling.
I identify happiness as a state of peace and purpose. It’s knowing I’m exactly where I’m meant to be — even when things get difficult. It’s found in the quiet of the forest on a long hike, in laughing with my mom over clothes, or hearing from a client that they finally feel beautiful in their own skin. Happiness, for me, is freedom — the freedom to live a life that reflects who I truly am.
Happy Women Club: How has being part of the Happy Women Club community enriched your journey?
Being part of the Happy Women Club community has reminded me that I’m not alone in my entrepreneurial journey. It’s a space full of women who lead with both heart and drive, which has been incredibly inspiring. Hearing the stories of others, seeing how they’ve navigated challenges and grown their businesses, has given me motivation and perspective when I’ve needed it most.
The support, collaboration, and celebration within this community is so genuine — it uplifts everyone involved. I’m truly grateful to be surrounded by such powerful and passionate women. It’s helped me step more fully into my purpose with confidence.
